Passive SAT Multiswitch, 2 Satellites, 8 Receivers | BME-0808
BLANKOM
BLANKOM BME-0808 passive satellite multiswitch (without a dedicated power supply) is a device that distributes satellite signals from 2 LNBs (Low Noise Block converters) to multiple receivers. It relies on the power provided by the connected satellite receivers instead of having an external power source.
How It Works
- It connects to 2 LNBs in a multi-satellite system and distributes signals to 8 satellite receivers.
- The receivers provide the necessary power for signal switching and amplification.
- It supports DiSEqC or 22 kHz tone switching for selecting different satellites or bands.
| Inputs | 8 Sat-IF signals from 2 Quattro or Quad LNBs |
|---|---|
| Outputs | 8 user outputs (sat receivers) |
| Outstanding features | No power supply unit (230 V mains supply) required |
| Ordering guide | BME-0808 non-cascadable |
Passive Multiswitch (without power supply), 2 LNBs (8 Sat-IF) in, 8 users out
Multiswitch optimized for use in small DTH satellite systems. 8 in/8 out cascadable and non-cascadable Multiswitch for distribution of satellite signals from 2 satellite positions (8 polarities) to 8 or 16 users (satellite receiver connections). The Multiswitch are sourced by the connected satellite receivers; they do not have internal power supplies or inputs for external power adapters.
Advantages of the BLANKOM Passive Satellite Multiswitch
- No External Power Required—Since it draws power from the receivers, there is no need for an external power adapter or connection to the electrical grid.
- Simple Installation—Fewer cables and no need for power sockets make installation more straightforward.
- Low-Energy Consumption—Since no dedicated power source is used, it consumes only as much power as the receivers provide.
- Cost-Effective—It reduces hardware costs by eliminating the need for a power supply.
- Less Heat Generation—Without an external power source, it generates less heat compared to an active Multiswitch.

BLANKOM BME-0808K Passive Multiswitch with Cascade Output (75 Ohm Terminators are optional)
BLANKOM BME-0808 passive multiswitch in a multi-room environment:

1. Residential Satellite TV Installations
- Used in homes where multiple receivers (e.g., in different rooms) need to be connected to a single satellite dish.
- Ideal for small households where receiver power is sufficient for switching and signal distribution.
2. Campervans & RVs
- Used in mobile satellite systems where power efficiency is critical.
- No need for an external power adapter, making it ideal for off-grid or battery-powered setups.
3. Boats & Yachts
- Suitable for marine satellite TV distribution where energy conservation is a priority.
- Works efficiently with compact satellite antennas installed on vessels.
4. Small Offices & Commercial Buildings
- Used in office spaces where satellite TV is distributed to a few TVs without requiring a complex infrastructure.
- Ideal for shops, cafés, or waiting areas with satellite TV services.
5. Secondary or Backup Systems
- Installed as a backup distribution system in case the main powered multiswitch fails.
- Useful for simple, temporary, or emergency setups.
- No External Power Supply Required – The multiswitch is powered solely by the satellite receivers, reducing the need for additional power connections.
- Compact & Simple Design – Usually smaller and lighter compared to active multiswitches, making installation easier.
- Supports Multiple Outputs – BME-0808 has 8 receiver outputs. Together with the cascade-out version BME-0808K, 16 receivers can be connected to 2 satellite dishes.
- DiSEqC & 22 kHz Tone Switching Support – Allows automatic switching between satellites and frequency bands based on receiver signals.
- Low Signal Loss – Designed to minimize signal attenuation, though some loss is inevitable without active amplification.
- Compatible with Universal LNBs – Works with standard single, twin, or quad-output LNBs used in satellite TV reception.
