Product questions

What is the difference between IPTV headend and DVB headend?

An IPTV headend delivers TV channels as IP streams (multicast or unicast) over a LAN or WAN – typically with DVB to IP gateways, IPTV encoders and IP to IP gateways. A DVB headend delivers them as RF signals over coax, using DVB-C, DVB-T or DVB-S2 modulators and transmodulators. Receivers (IRD) and some gateways are used in both.

Which BLANKOM encoders and decoders support SRT?

Most current BLANKOM IP encoders and decoders support SRT alongside UDP/RTP, RTMP and HLS. The SRT filter lists every model with SRT support; check the data sheet of each unit for the exact protocol set.

Can I order cables and patch cords directly?

Cables and patch cords are supplied through our distributors. Direct orders are possible subject to minimum order quantity and minimum order value. Headend and IP video equipment is sold directly in Europe and through partners worldwide.

Where do I find data sheets and manuals?

Data sheets, manuals and guides for all products are in the Downloads library. For a configuration check or a quotation, send us the product, quantity and intended application in writing.
