Coaxial cable for serial digital video, chosen by diameter: the thinner the cable the easier the routing, the thicker the cable the longer the run.
Four constructions cover the usual distances. The 0.5L/2.0AF at 2.9 mm is the thinnest, for patch fields, camera tails and dense cable ducts. The 0.6/2.8AF at 4.5 mm and the 0.8/3.7AF at 6.1 mm are the general-purpose installation sizes. The 1.0/4.8AF at 6.9 mm is for the longest runs in the building or between technical rooms.
All four are specified for UHD SDI, so the same cable family can be used for 3G-SDI today and 12G-SDI when the cameras are replaced, which is usually the reason installers standardise on one range.
