Cat 8.1 cords for short, high-bandwidth links inside a cabinet or between adjacent racks.
CAT8-1000 is a 24 AWG S/FTP cord for standard use. CAT8-2000 is a 26 AWG F/FTP cord, thinner and easier to route where many cords converge. CAT8-4000 uses slim cable for the densest patch fields, and CAT8-3000 uses flat cable where the cord has to lie under equipment or pass a tight edge.
Cat 8.1 is specified for short distances, so these are cords for the top of rack and between racks rather than for horizontal building cabling — which is where Cat 6A and Cat 7 remain the right choice.
All four are 24 or 26 AWG assemblies with moulded strain relief, made to a fixed construction so that a repeat order behaves like the first one.
