BLANKOM IRD 6300 Application 2

BLANKOM IRD 6300 Application 1

To accommodate diverse global digital broadcasting and telecommunication standards within a single hardware architecture, the IRD-7000 series offers five specialized variants:

  • IRD-7000: Configured with 4x DVB-S/S2/S2X satellite tuners.

  • IRD-7000T: Configured with 4x DVB-C/T/T2 digital cable and terrestrial tuners.

  • IRD-7000I: Configured with 4x ISDB-T tuners (optimized for South American and Japanese regional networks).

  • IRD-7000A: Configured with 4x ATSC-T tuners (optimized for North American broadcast standards).

  • IRD-7000D: Configured with 4x DTMB tuners (optimized for Chinese and specialized international deployment layouts).

The IRD-7000 platform is equipped with 4 independent Common Interface (CI) slots on the front panel. This high-density architecture allows the insertion of standard professional Conditional Access Modules (CAMs) paired with operator Smart Cards. The internal multiplexing matrix enables the simultaneous descrambling of multiple encrypted TV programs or entire Multi-Program Transport Streams (MPTS) directly at the headend level before routing to downstream networks.

Yes, the IRD-7000 functions as an enterprise-grade turn-around IP Gateway. It efficiently ingests raw RF signals from its 4 tuners, performs necessary hardware descrambling, and multiplexes the transport streams into IP payloads. The dedicated Gigabit Ethernet output interfaces support transmitting up to 48x SPTS (Single Program Transport Stream) or MPTS streams simultaneously over UDP and RTP protocols, utilizing both Unicast and Multicast network topologies.

To guarantee seamless backward compatibility with traditional television headends and studio distribution blocks, the IRD-7000 includes physical ASI (Asynchronous Serial Interface) input and output BNC ports. This allows headend engineers to route external transport streams through the IRD’s multiplexing processor or output descrambled feeds directly into legacy hardware modulators and statistical multiplexers.

Yes, the satellite-tuner variant (IRD-7000 base model) features advanced, independent LNB power management across all 4 RF inputs. Network operators can configure 13V/18V voltage switching and 0/22KHz tone signaling via the software interface to lock into specific satellite polarizations and frequency bands. It also natively supports the DiSEqC 1.0 protocol, enabling the unit to control multi-satellite coaxial switches directly without external hardware power injectors.

The IRD-7000 integrates a powerful hardware multiplexer engine that gives operators absolute control over stream metadata. It supports comprehensive BISS-1 and BISS-E descrambling for secure satellite contribution feeds, alongside advanced packet management features including PID Remapping, Service Name Editing, PCR Correction, and Program Filtering to build highly tailored custom channel lineups.

The IRD-7000 family is engineered specifically as a high-availability, high-density RF-to-IP/ASI turn-around gateway designed to ingest and distribute transport streams across digital infrastructures. It focuses its hardware processing power entirely on high-throughput multiplexing and streaming over IP/ASI networks rather than providing multi-channel physical baseband video decoding outputs (such as HDMI or SDI) per tuner.

The hardware is equipped with an independent, dedicated Network Management System (NMS) Ethernet interface. All parameters—including tuner signal levels, MER, Eb/No thresholds, CAM statuses, and IP multicast targets—can be configured via a responsive, user-friendly browser-based WebGUI. For centralized central monitoring, full SNMP integration is supported to trigger automatic real-time alerts and telemetry tracking.

To satisfy operator-grade high-availability constraints, the IRD-7000 is built inside a ruggedized 1U rack-mountable industrial metal chassis. It can be optioned with dual redundant hot-swappable power supplies (supporting AC or DC loops). This hardware redundancy guarantees that if a main power rail suffers an outage, the secondary power unit instantly sustains the full system load without causing signal drops or system reboots.

Engineered strictly to function as core infrastructure for telecommunication operators, ISPs, and large hospitality headends, the IRD-7000 is built with industrial-grade components and an automated temperature-controlled cooling layout. Operating on a highly stable, hardened embedded operating system, it is fully certified to deliver %99.999 continuous uptime (Five Nines) under constant 24/7/365 heavy-duty operational loads, eliminating the risk of packet loss or hardware-induced service interruptions.
