BLANKOM HD Encoder Streamers Application Diagram

B2B application examples demonstrating how the universal compatibility of the HDE-264 solves specific video distribution requirements:

  • High-Density Hospitality and Hotel IPTV Ingestion: Hotels frequently maintain a mixed ecosystem of older and newer digital televisions across guest rooms. By utilizing the HDE-264 to ingest local promotional media players or satellite receivers via HDMI, the facility encodes channels into an H.264 UDP Multicast stream. This universal format ensures that both legacy Linux-based Set-Top Boxes and modern Smart TVs can decode and display the internal hotel channels flawlessly without updating room hardware.

  • Secure Corporate Town Hall and Live Web Streaming: During large corporate announcements, the master output of an AV production mixer is routed via HDMI into the HDE-264. The device compresses the high-definition video feed into H.264 format and streams it securely over the internet using the RTMP/RTMPS or SRT protocol directly to public video platforms or internal corporate web portals. Employees worldwide can watch the broadcast live on their office desktops, tablets, or smartphones without installing external media plugins.

  • Local Government Council Meeting Archiving and Public Broadcasting: Municipalities deploy the HDE-264 to handle public transparency requirements. The main chamber camera feed is sent via HDMI to the device, which streams a high-definition RTMP feed directly to social video networks for citizens. Utilizing its multi-stream capability, the encoder simultaneously pushes a secondary low-latency RTSP stream to a local Network Video Recorder (NVR) for official digital record logging and legal compliance storage.

  • Educational Lecture Capture and Campus-Wide IPTV Streaming: In university auditoriums, a professor’s presentation laptop or document camera is connected to the HDMI input of the HDE-264. The unit compresses the presentation material into an H.264 multicast stream distributed across the university’s local network. This allows students in overflow classrooms, campus libraries, or student dormitories to view the lecture live using standard open-source media players (like VLC) on any device.

  • Remote Security Monitoring and Central Command Center Distribution: In industrial facilities or large corporate complexes, local high-resolution security control consoles or remote monitoring systems output visual diagnostics via HDMI. The HDE-264 encodes this live feed at 1080p60 resolution and pushes it via RTSP or secure SRT channels directly to a centralized main control room miles away. This allows security supervisors to monitor critical data screens over a secure WAN infrastructure without introducing heavy network latency or system vulnerabilities.

The BLANKOM HDE-264 is a professional hardware encoding appliance designed to compress live HD video and audio from an HDMI input into standard IP streams. It enables operators to distribute high-clarity digital television feeds or corporate AV sources directly over local area networks (LAN) or wide-area networks (WAN) to downstream IPTV headends, decoding clients, and streaming servers.

The hardware encoding engine natively handles video input and output processing configurations up to 1920×1080 Full HD at 60 frames per second (1080p60). It is backward compatible with various standard interlaced and progressive high-definition formats (such as 1080i60, 720p60, and 576p), ensuring accurate pixel-to-pixel mapping from professional cameras and media players.

While newer codecs exist, H.264/AVC (MPEG-4 Part 10) remains the most universally compatible video compression standard globally. It guarantees that the outgoing IP streams can be decoded effortlessly by almost any legacy Set-Top Box (STB), smart TV, web browser, smartphone, or media server in existence without requiring proprietary software licenses or causing heavy CPU overhead on the decoding client side.

The device integrates a flexible multi-protocol streaming matrix. It can broadcast the compressed transport stream concurrently across multiple professional channels, including UDP/RTP (Multicast and Unicast), SRT (Secure Reliable Transport), RTSP, HTTP, and RTMP/RTMPS, enabling parallel distribution to local multicast alanyzes and public cloud streaming platforms.

The HDE-264 incorporates a high-efficiency Dual-Stream encoding architecture. It can process the single physical HDMI input into up to 2 independent IP output streams simultaneously (Main Stream and Sub Stream). Network engineers can utilize the Main Stream for high-bitrate, full-resolution (1080p60) distribution to prime IPTV headends, while concurrently configuring the Sub Stream at a lower resolution and lower bitrate to serve mobile devices, remote web proxies, or local low-bandwidth archival storage loops.

The device extracts the digital audio payload directly from the embedded HDMI signal line. It compresses the audio track utilizing high-efficiency AAC-LC and MPEG-1 Layer II (MP2) standards, multiplexing the stereo audio directly into the outgoing IP transport stream container to maintain perfect audio-video synchronization.

Yes, an advanced internal On-Screen Display (OSD) engine is built into the device firmware. Network administrators can overlay customized text lines, system timestamps, corporate logos, or transparent watermark images directly onto the video matrix in real time via the web management interface without causing any stream stuttering or frame drops.

The HDE-264 runs on a deeply hardened, lightweight embedded Linux operating system. It does not contain an internal SNMP agent or complex software dependencies. Management is handled completely remotely via a highly responsive browser-based WebGUI (Web User Interface) through its RJ45 Ethernet management port, allowing engineers to modify parameters using any standard web browser.

The HDE-264 is encased in a compact, rugged metal chassis featuring an advanced passive fanless thermal cooling design. By eliminating moving mechanical components—which represent the primary point of physical wear and failure in processing hardware—the device delivers an exceptional Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) profile. It operates with high stability and is structurally optimized for uninterrupted, continuous 24/7/365 commercial deployment.

Yes. To support diverse professional audio environments where separate mixing is required, the hardware layout includes a physical 3.5mm stereo analog audio input jack alongside the HDMI line. Through the WebGUI, operators can explicitly configure the encoder to capture either the digital audio embedded within the HDMI line or inject a separate line-level analog audio track from a local soundboard or studio microphone array
