To support diverse global broadcasting standards, the IRD-4000 series is available in five distinct hardware sub-models:

  • IRD-4000: Equipped with 4x DVB-S/S2/S2X satellite tuners.

  • IRD-4000T: Equipped with 4x DVB-C/T/T2 terrestrial and digital cable tuners.

  • IRD-4000I: Equipped with 4x ISDB-T tuners (primarily for South American and Japanese markets).

  • IRD-4000A: Equipped with 4x ATSC-T tuners (primarily for North American markets).

  • IRD-4000D: Equipped with 4x DTMB tuners (primarily for Chinese and international markets).

Yes, the IRD-4000 family is equipped with 4 independent Common Interface (CI) slots on the front panel. This architecture allows the insertion of standard Conditional Access Modules (CAM) paired with operator Smart Cards, enabling the simultaneous descrambling of multiple encrypted TV programs or entire transponder streams directly at the headend level.

Yes, the IRD-4000 acts as a high-density DVB-to-IP Gateway. It descrambles and demultiplexes the incoming RF tuner feeds and converts them into IP streams. The device features Gigabit Ethernet interfaces that support distributing up to 48x SPTS (Single Program Transport Stream) or MPTS (Multi-Program Transport Stream) outputs simultaneously over UDP and RTP protocols (supporting both Unicast and Multicast modes).

Yes, to ensure seamless integration into legacy broadcasting environments, the IRD-4000 architecture includes physical ASI (Asynchronous Serial Interface) input and output BNC ports. This allows operators to route transport streams from external legacy hardware through the IRD or pass decoded/multiplexed streams directly into traditional ASI-based modulators and scramblers.

The device features a powerful built-in multiplexer and matrix switch. It supports comprehensive BISS-1 and BISS-E descrambling for secure satellite contribution feeds, alongside advanced packet management capabilities including PID Remapping, Service Name Editing, and Program Filtering to build highly optimized custom channel lineups.

The IRD-4000 series is primarily engineered as a high-density RF-to-IP/ASI turn-around gateway designed to feed downstream IPTV networks or edge modulators. Depending on the specific hardware chassis option chosen, it focuses on streaming and multiplexing transport streams over IP and ASI rather than providing multi-channel physical baseband video outputs (such as HDMI or SDI) per tuner.

The unit features a dedicated Network Management System (NMS) Ethernet port. Network administrators can easily configure all parameters—such as tuner frequencies, LNB power (13V/18V, DiSEqC), CAM configurations, and IP stream destinations—via an intuitive, built-in WebGUI. For centralized enterprise operations, SNMP support is integrated for real-time status monitoring and automated alerts.

The IRD-4000 is built inside a standard 1U rack-mountable industrial metal chassis designed for server room racks. To meet operator-grade high-availability standards, it can be ordered with dual redundant hot-swappable power supplies (AC or DC options). This ensures that if one power loop fails, the device continues to run without any signal interruption or service downtime.

Designed strictly for mission-critical enterprise environments, the IRD-4000 runs on a hardened embedded operating system with passive or automated temperature-controlled cooling systems. This rugged engineering ensures a %95+ probability of continuous 24/7/365 heavy-duty operation without packet loss, thermal throttling, or hardware lockups.

Yes, the satellite variant (IRD-4000 base model) features built-in LNB power management across all 4 RF tuner inputs independently. Through the WebGUI interface, operators can configure 13V/18V voltage switching and 0/22KHz tone signaling to select specific satellite polarizations and frequency bands (Low/High). Additionally, it fully supports the DiSEqC 1.0 protocol, enabling the headend hardware to automatically control multi-satellite coaxial switches and route feeds from different satellite dishes without requiring external LNB power injectors.
