B2B application examples showcasing how the hybrid SPTS/MPTS output architecture and extreme channel density of the EMU-8600 series solve large-scale enterprise video requirements:

  • Hybrid Hospitality Networks (Simultaneous DVB-C Coaxial and IPTV Streaming): Many historic luxury hotels or large cruise ships have a split distribution infrastructure: legacy guest blocks utilize traditional coaxial cabling, while newer blocks feature modern Cat6 IP-networks. By deploying the EMU-8624, the chief engineer can ingest 24 high-definition HDMI sources into 1U of rack space. The device outputs 24 separate SPTS multicast streams directly to the new Smart TV IPTV network, while concurrently sending 3 combined MPTS streams to an edge BLANKOM QAM modulator to feed the coaxial DVB-C television grid, avoiding duplicate hardware costs.

  • Enterprise Corporate AV Distribution and Closed-Circuit TV Systems: Multinational corporate headquarters or massive convention centers require flexible content routing across building zones. Utilizing the EMU-8616, the internal IT team connects 16 separate media players, digital signage loops, or live executive presentation notebooks via HDMI. The device generates 16 independent SPTS multicast streams for localized screen selection over the LAN, while its 2 combined MPTS outputs package the entire lineup into two unified streams sent directly to central recording servers or backup edge distribution blocks.

  • Centralized Municipal and Judicial Chamber Multi-Stream Management: City council buildings and judicial complexes use multiple fixed cameras to record public sessions, main chambers, and separate committee rooms. The EMU-8616 or EMU-8624 consolidates these lines by accepting up to 16 or 24 camera HDMI outputs within a single 1U device. The system converts the video matrix into separate SPTS UDP/RTP streams, allowing the city’s technical staff to route specific room streams directly to localized archiving servers or push them to WAN proxy nodes for public transparency logging.

  • Academic Campus Video Distribution and Campus Headend Integration: In centralized university network operation centers (NOC), managing independent video streams from multiple lecture halls can be a hardware challenge. The EMU-8624 allows the university to pull 24 high-definition HDMI camera and presentation feeds from 24 different classrooms into a single 1U rack unit. The device outputs 24 independent SPTS multicast feeds for individual student viewing, while compiling 3 distinct MPTS transport streams to feed the campus-wide digital television distribution headend.

  • Teleport Contribution and Master Control Room (MCR) Feed Monitoring: Satellite teleport facilities and master control rooms must monitor and route dozens of incoming local turnaround channels or studio outputs before satellite uplink. Deploying the EMU-8624 allows engineers to take 24 independent monitor HDMI feeds from the production desks and digitize them instantly. The independent SPTS IP output architecture makes it easy to map these 24 feeds directly onto professional multiviewer network displays, enabling operators to keep an eye on full 1080p channel status without overloading the broadcast infrastructure.

The BLANKOM EMU-8600 series represents a high-density, professional hardware encoding solution engineered for carrier-grade IPTV networks and commercial headends. It ingests high-definition digital baseband signals from multiple HDMI sources (such as satellite receivers, media players, or signage servers) and compresses the raw video and audio payloads in real time into optimized digital IP transport streams.

To accurately match distinct enterprise deployment scales, the product line is strictly structured into two hardware chassis configurations:

  • EMU-8616: Equipped with 16 physical HDMI input ports, delivering 16 independent SPTS and 2 multiplexed MPTS IP stream outputs.

  • EMU-8624: Equipped with 24 physical HDMI input ports, delivering 24 independent SPTS and 3 multiplexed MPTS IP stream outputs.

The series outputs both stream topologies simultaneously over its network ports to support versatile distribution layouts. SPTS (Single Program Transport Stream) assigns each individual HDMI input channel to its own unique IP multicast/unicast address, which is optimal for direct IPTV set-top box routing. MPTS (Multi-Program Transport Stream) bundles multiple encoded HDMI channels into a single, combined IP stream block, which is highly efficient for transport to secondary edge modulators or transmodulators.

The integrated donanımsal encoding core features high-efficiency compression engines, natively supporting industry-standard H.264 (AVC) video encoding profiles. This guarantees maximum compatibility with legacy and modern edge IPTV decoders, digital signage receivers, and standard software players while robustly keeping the required network distribution bandwidth at an absolute minimum.

The audio processing stage comprehensively handles digital audio signals extracted directly from the HDMI input interfaces. It supports professional broadcast audio compression standards—predominantly MPEG-1 Layer II and AAC variants—allowing operators to configure independent audio bitrates, execute audio pass-through, or implement volume gain adjustments per channel.

The egress streaming engine complies strictly with professional B2B telecom IP networking infrastructures. It implements line-rate, low-overhead UDP and RTP encapsulation, supporting both Unicast and Multicast transport topologies to ensure highly stable, low-latency distribution across gigabit local architectures or enterprise core networks.

Yes. Because the hardware concurrently outputs multi-channel MPTS streams, it incorporates a powerful internal digital multiplexing core. This allows network engineers to configure precise PID filtering and PID remapping, inject custom transport descriptors, and assign exactly which encoded HDMI programs are grouped into the available MPTS output packages.

Yes, full PSI/SI metadata table parsing and regeneration are natively supported. The internal multiplexing engine automatically builds and continuously updates the necessary PAT, PMT, NIT, and SDT tables. Through the web configuration dashboard, engineers can manually re-write service descriptors, modify provider strings, and assign custom logical program attributes.

System provisioning, HDMI input signal telemetry, encoding bitrates, and IP routing matrices are managed exclusively via an embedded WebGUI using a standard internet browser through a dedicated, independent Ethernet management port. This provides network administrators with a secure, responsive, and direct web-based control plane.

Built for demanding 24/7/365 continuous IPTV operations, all models (both the 16 and 24 HDMI variants) are housed in a rugged, standard 19-inch 1U rack-mount industrial metal chassis. The enclosure leverages optimized airflow channels and active cooling fans for thermal stability, relying on a highly efficient, reliable dâhili single power supply unit tailored for long-term edge headend deployments.
